How to Visit the Islands

Four simple steps from arrival to paradise.

Get to South Jetty

Head to South Jetty at Kota Kinabalu Port. Park at JQ Central (Levels 4-6, cashless payment). Take Retail Lift 2 to Ground floor.

Choose Your Package

Pick an operator and island package at the counter, or book online via Easybook before you arrive.

Board Your Boat

First departure from 8:00 AM, last departure by 2:00 PM. The ride takes about 30 minutes.

Enjoy the Islands

Snorkel, swim, kayak, or just relax on white sand beaches. Return boats run until 4:00 PM.

Arrive early for the best experience

Plan to arrive by 8:00 AM. Last departure to islands is between 1:00 – 2:00 PM. Last return boat is at 4:00 PM.

Getting Here

Jesselton Point Ferry Terminal is temporarily operating from South Jetty, Kota Kinabalu Port while the original terminal undergoes upgrading works.

From KK Airport (BKI)

~15 min drive via taxi or Grab. Head towards Kota Kinabalu Port / South Jetty.

From City Centre

5-10 min walk from Gaya Street and KK city hotels. Just head to the waterfront.

Parking at JQ Central

Levels 4, 5 & 6. Cashless payment. Take Retail Lift 2 to Ground floor. No on-site parking at the terminal.

Common questions

Before You Visit

Do I need to book in advance?
No — walk-ins are welcome and most visitors buy tickets at the counter. However, during peak season (school holidays, weekends), pre-booking via Easybook is recommended to guarantee your preferred departure time.
Is it safe for non-swimmers?
Yes. All passengers receive a life jacket and safety briefing before boarding. The islands have shallow beach areas suitable for wading. Snorkeling with a life jacket is also possible.
Can I bring my own food to the islands?
Yes, you can bring food and drinks. Some islands have BBQ pits and picnic areas (Manukan). Please take all rubbish back with you — the marine park is a protected area.
What happens if the weather is bad?
If boats are cancelled due to unsafe conditions, all tickets are fully refunded or rescheduled at no extra cost. Check the boarding status on this page or contact us via WhatsApp before heading to the terminal.
